Keynote Speaker: Vassilis Katsouros

Talk Title (Tentative): Attention to Culture: LLMs in Cultural Heritage Research
Vassilis Katsouros is the Director of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) at the Athena Research Center (ATHENA RC) since 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematical Modelling and Stochastic Control from Imperial College London and has extensive experience in digital signal processing, statistical analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. He has led ILSP’s major initiatives in language technologies, including the creation of Llama-Krikri, the first advanced Greek open-source Large Language Model. Throughout his career, he has coordinated numerous national and European R&D projects, co-founded ILSP’s first spin-off company, and contributed extensively to research, education, and innovation in AI and digital communications.
